Each week, I will post something that pertains to a class lesson or discussion. There may be videos or online articles I would like you to read. With the post, there will usually be a few questions that I want you to answer right here on the blog.
Here are the instructions for how to participate:
- Check the blog at the end of the week and look for the most recent post from me.
- If there is a link, click on it-- it will take you right to the content I wish to share with you.
- After completing the task (watching a video, reading an article, etc.) post the answers to your questions.
- Be sure to include all the components I am asking for. This may require you to research on the internet on your own as part of your response.
Post #1:
This week we were introduced to percents, discussed how the term percent literally means "of 100", and solved simple percents. As a review of this weeks lesson, I am asking you to watch a video, answer questions and locate examples of real world percents (similar to the one below) on the internet.
For this week:
- Watch the attached BrainPop video titled "Percents".
- While you watch, think about examples of where you see percents in the real world.
- When you are finished, post your answer to two of the following questions.
- Post two images you found online that show percents in a real world context.
- Provide the link to an online article or funny comic that pertains to percents.

3. How did Tim and Moby relate percents to their vacation schedule?
4. Tim says "There are ____ ways to solve a percent problem, depending on the information you have." How many ways are there?
